Yes ,I have realised have transposed L3 and L1. I am now de-soldering and re positioning. .
All capacitors now fitted. Played hunt the capacitor for the one that went missing off the polystyrene board. It would be the tiny one wouldn't it.
Tweezers now located finger burns reduced.
Capacitors lined up and ready for installation tomorrow. So far the project is going well and board is very easy to solder.
Notice the eye glass for checking for bridges and dry joints. I am getting old and the eye sight is going.
A hour at a time is quite sufficient for me. Therefore this could be a long project.
The soldering iron was retrieved from the loft a little behind schedule. The IC holders. coils and resistors are now on the board all carefully checked by my assistant and photographer G0OKD. Just a few minor burns when holding in the resistors. Now where did I put that set of tweezers!!!

First of all I separated the boards and finished the edges with a emery board.
I have found my travelling kit of jewellery making tools very useful for bending the pins on the IC holders and a pair of very fine tweezers were brought into use for the breaking the ceramic capacitor on L3 the oscillator coil and removing the solder lugs on each side of the screened can.
On Friday the real work begins, the Antex soldiering iron comes out of its box for the first time.

This is the first post in my blog on builidng the G-QRP Club Limerick Sudden 40 metre receiver. The receiver was designed Rev George Dobbs G3RJV with printed circuit board designed by Rex Harper W1REX.
I purchased the kit from the GQRP stall at the 10th Junction 28 G-QRP Rally in Alfreton Derbyshire. This rally is organised by South Normanton Alfreton and District Amateur Radio Club in association with the G-QRP Club. The rally is aimed at the constructor with may of the stalls selling varied components.
Please note I am noted not employed by either organisation and this project is strictly for my own interest. I am studying for the UK Advanced Licence and hope that building this kit will by help me understand how components work in an actual circuit.
